We did a gig on Fri, and then 6 people including my husband did another gig on Sat.
They are mini version of Wonderbrass and they all can do brilliant solo anytime.
洗濯物みたいに見えちゃうけど、古着のジーンズで作ってある楽譜スタンドのカバー。海辺のステージにぴったり。
ちょっとしたお祭りイベントでバンドを雇いたい、
がしかし大所帯のワンダーブラスを雇うほど１つのバンドにお金はかけられない、、
てな時ににわかに結成したのがこのOBE (Occasional Brass Ensemble)。
メロディーライン、ベースとリズムライン、リーダーのロブの華やかなソプラノサックス、
とたった６人でも３０人越えのワンダーブラスのサウンドが出せ、
かつ６人みんないつでもアドリブでソロができる。。。プロ並み。
(ロブはプロですが)
This is mini version but has everything needed to make wonderbrass sound,
trumpet, trombone, sax and drum.
I wish I could be as good as them.
目の前が大きく開けたビーチで
演奏を始めてしばらくすると素晴らしく晴れてきて
何てゴージャスなステージ！
They did the performance on the hotel balcony, facing amazing bay view.
They all said it's the best stage ever. How true!
イアンちゃんもご機嫌でパフォーマンスを終え、
しばらく皆ダラダラ本を読んだり
お互いの読んでる本を覗き合ってはにわか読書談義がはじまったり。
この本は最高だけど映画はゴミだとか、その反対とか、
みんなどれだけ映画や本知ってるの、、、、。
After the gig, we just hanged out in a cottage, reading, talking about what each other is reading,
film vs original novel, etc etc.
週末の間、金曜を除けばお天気はだいたい良かったのですが
夕方が近くなってちょっと雲がかさばってきた様子。
雨が振る前におさんぽしよう！と
用意の良いジェニーたちは長靴はいてビーチへ。
私とイアンも遅れて続くと(私が携帯を無くして探していたw)
We saw layers of cloud coming over here, so we decided to go for a walk
before it started rain.
Ian and I followed other people after 15mins or so, and found them doing something very hard.....
なんかやってる、、、。
んー？みんな地面にごしごしブーツの底を擦り付けて何やってるの、、、？？
What are they doing by digging with their boots?
近寄ってきた私たちを見てジェニーが
「ほらこことあそこ、手伝って！」と叫ぶので
全体像を見回すと、こんなことになっていたのでした。。
ワンダーブラスのW！
崖の上まで戻ったらよく見えるように大きく大きく
せっせと砂を削り起こしてたんね。。ご苦労さんw

They wanted to make a massive 'W' so that people can see it up on the hill.

つかれたー！と一仕事終えたジェニー。
このあと雨がパラパラしてたので
それぞれ戻ったのですが
またあっという間に晴れ。忙しいお天気ですこと。
After a little rain, sun came back. It's such a busy weather.
Well now, why don't we have lovely dinner out on the benches?
ま、せっかくの晴れなので
ブランチ同様、晩ご飯もうきうき外ごはん。
この週末中、唯一ホテルのレストランでオーダーした食事。
ここのは本当に美味なので１食くらいは楽しみたい♪
Druidston Hotel has great restaurant. We can't spend money at the hotel restaurant for every meal, but couldn't help having such a nice dinner once before we left!
I had mackerel and potatoes with salad. You can take any salad for your plate.
私が頼んだのは
すぐそこの湾で穫れたという新鮮なサバと、ドレッシングで合えた茹でじゃが。
サラダは数種類食べ放題のサラダバーからざっくざく掴んで盛りました笑。
終わっちゃうとあっという間だけど
今回のDruidstoneもすてきな週末だったなあ。
ジェニーはパッキングしながら
「みんなでずーっとここで暮らしたい！」と繰り返してたけど
ほんとにそんな気持ちにさせる素敵な場所です。
That really was great weekend. Jen kept saying 'I want to live here forever with everyone',
That's the feeling I share.
きっと来年も、来るからね。
We'll come back next year...

ああ、のんびり更新してたら
すっかり時間がすぎて
ロンドンの週末もあっという間で過ぎて行きました。
というわけでDruidstoneの週末を駆け足更新です。

金曜夜にギグをして、土曜日の朝、
キャンプ組がカーディフへ向けて帰った後
イアンちゃんたち６人によるワンダーブラスのミニバージョンでギグ。
